The chamber. A dry herb device uses an oven that heats loose material through the walls and the air passing over it. A concentrate device uses a small quartz or ceramic tank that heats a much smaller amount far more aggressively. Loading the wrong material into either makes a mess and usually ruins the chamber.

Some come close. The VRS is a 3 in 1 built to switch between oil and concentrate, and the Mini Plus takes a concentrate skillet in addition to loose material. Neither is a compromise you have to make, but a dedicated device will always be better at the one job it was built for.

It means there is no wire coil sitting in the chamber. The quartz bucket itself is heated instead, so vapor never passes over hot metal or a wick. Most people find it tastes cleaner, and there is one fewer part to burn out. The Go Plus uses this design.

It depends on what they are heating. The Mini tops out around 410 degrees for loose material, which is where you want it. The Go Plus covers 392 to 932 degrees F because concentrate is worked across a much wider band, from low temperature flavor pulls up to full vapor production.

It is a small vibration that tells you the device has changed state, usually that it has reached temperature or that the session has ended. The Mini Plus uses it so you are not staring at a light waiting for permission to draw.

For an oil cart, 280mAh to 400mAh covers a day of light use and 650mAh covers heavy use. For a concentrate device the demand is far higher, which is why the Go Plus carries 5200mAh. Loose material devices land in between, since sessions are longer but less frequent.

Yes, and it matters more than most people expect. A vaporizer heats the surface of whatever you load. Whole material has very little surface area, so the outside cooks while the middle stays raw. An even grind gives you a fuller draw and less waste.

Brush out a dry herb chamber after every few sessions and give it a proper clean with isopropyl alcohol on a swab every couple of weeks. A concentrate tank wants a swab out while it is still slightly warm, before residue hardens. Airflow paths and mouthpieces need attention more often than people give them.

You fill it with water, and the vapor passes through before it reaches you. That cools it and takes some of the edge off a hot pull. It is the same principle as any water piece, in a form small enough to sit on a handheld device.

Start with whatever you already have material for. If you buy carts, a 510 thread battery is the cheapest sensible entry. If you have loose material, the Mini is about as small and simple as a real oven gets. Concentrate devices reward you most once you already know what you like.
